Silvia Romão
Sílvia is a native Portuguese teacher from Lisbon with a strong focus on European Portuguese for foreigners. She has extensive experience working with children, teenagers and adults, from complete beginners to advanced level, both in group courses and one-to-one classes.
In her lessons, students learn the structure of the language while constantly practising speaking in realistic situations: daily life in Lisbon, school and work, family, free time, and Portuguese culture. She enjoys using stories, games, literature and audiovisual materials to make vocabulary and grammar meaningful, memorable and fun.
Sílvia is currently completing a Master’s degree in Teaching Portuguese as a Second and Foreign Language at NOVA University Lisbon.
Her teaching style is warm, patient and encouraging, with a clear goal: to help each student feel safe to speak, make mistakes, and gradually become confident communicating in Portuguese.
